Will a person go to hell if he believes in an unbiblical Jesus?

For many people, this is a challenging question that they are unable to accept because they have a tendency to believe that because Jesus is merciful, they will simply let them in despite the fact that they have an incorrect view of who He is. But let Jesus Christ speak for Himself in John 8:24, "I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.” - ESV That is why I told you that you will die in your sins. And you will die in your sins if you do not believe that 'I Am Who I Am'." - GNB Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins. LITV It is no wonder that Jesus ask the disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” - Matt. 16:13b He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” - Matt. 16:15 Many people who claim to be Christians feel they believe in the correct Jesus of the Bible, unaware that they actually believe in a different Jesus. This is why it is critical to believe who Jesus Christ really is. As one former Jehovah's Witness once observed, "If you have the right Jesus then you are right for all eternity. But if you have the wrong Jesus then you are wrong for all eternity." Someone who believes in the wrong Jesus will undoubtedly end up in eternal suffering.
