Is it appropriate for a Christian to have rhinoplasty?

There are numerous reasons why people go through plastic surgery. This is done to reconstruct a malformed part of the body that has been there since birth or was caused by an unfortunate accident. Many people in the showbiz industry have gone through cosmetic procedures such as rhinoplasty to improve their appearance on screen. This is understandable given that acting is their primary passion and profession. Let us not judge their motives. Obviously, only the individual involved will know the real motivation behind the improvement of his or her self-image. This is similarly related to bodybuilding. Some people go to the gym to improve their body image or physical well-being. Therefore, assessing a person's true motivation for cosmetic surgery is difficult. Only God knows the real intent behind the action. If a person is so obsessed with physical enhancement that it becomes a source of identity, the behavior gradually progresses into self-idolatry. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
